Volunteers & How You Can Help

The Owls Head Village Library is run entirely by volunteers. From daily operations to special events, our library exists because community members generously give their time, skills, and support.

Volunteering at the Library

Volunteers help keep the library running smoothly during open hours and behind the scenes. Tasks vary based on interest, experience, and availability.

  • Staffing the library during open hours
  • Handling checkout and return of library materials
  • Shelving books and organizing materials
  • Assisting with administrative projects such as cataloging
  • Providing flexible support to assist the librarian as needed

We welcome volunteer involvement whether it is one hour a week or many hours per week, month, or year.

Committees & Events

There are many ways to assist beyond regular library hours. We have committees that support:

  • Marketing and publicity
  • Events and programming
  • Fundraising
  • Finance
  • Library operations
  • Facilities and maintenance

If you have a particular interest or skill you would like to contribute—or if you are available to help during our busy summer season—we would love to hear from you.

Please email us at
owlsheadvillagelibrary@gmail.com.
We will reach out and determine how you can best fit in.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of the Owls Head Village Library Association is entirely volunteer.
