What’s New at OHVL

Two New Great Books!!

New this week at the library. Meredith Hall’s two New York Times Bestsellers, one (Without a Map) and the other a novel (Beneficence). Meredith Hall is a Maine author who divides her time between Maine and California. Her book (Without a Map), in addition to being on the New York Times bestseller list was chosen as “Best Book of the Year” by Kirkus and Booksense as well as Elle’s “Readers’ Pick of the Year.

Beneficense is a family saga that takes place in rural Maine. It is a story of compassion, love, family, mental illness and grief. ” If the word luminous didn’t already exist, you’d have to invent it to describe Meredith Hall’s radiant new novel” (Richard Russo)

Volunteers

Volunteers……

We love volunteers! We are ones ourselves!!!!

Here are just a few of the ways volunteers can help keep our library humming:

  • community paint days ( we plan to paint exterior trim and clean/bleach exterior shingles)
  • land/tree/shrub maintenance
  • carpentry
  • library help including circulation; book processing, book sale, publicity, promotion, special events, computer and technology.

Volunteer for one hour or one thousand hours. We appreciate whatever amount of time you can give us whether it is once a week, once a month or once a year. Tell us about any special skill you have that may help the library. Baking for a bake sale? contacting potential speakers? fund raising. We welcome your help and your ideas.
